After being away from the Star Wars costuming building scene for nearly a decade, I decided to get back into it. My first costume to make will be a Sandtrooper. It’s one costume I always liked, but never made. Previous costumes I had made for myself before include: Luke Hoth Pilot, Biker Scout, Snowtrooper, Boba Fett, Tusken Raider.
I’m also going to be making Franklin a Jawa costume. I have made many Jawa’s before, but these were always just display mannequins. This will be the first functioning costume Jawa.
I’ll post progress pix of both as I make progress

From Bricks to Bothans
23 years ago, my senior year in high school, I started a Twiggy collection. Since then I have bought and sold many other collections. But the Twiggy one managed to always stay with me. But now I’ve decided to part ways with it.
There are a couple reasons I’m doing this. Reason #1, of course, is to get money. I am taking on a new project that will require a good chunk of cash. When doing new things that require a bit of capital – I like to fund it by selling stuff, rather than spending money from my regular income.
The second reason is that over the past couple years it’s been harder to find Twiggy items I don’t already have. I like to actively grow my collection, keep it fresh and add to it occasionally. With this collection I feel like I’ve reached a plateau. I can’t even remember the last time I found a Twiggy item I didn’t already own.
And third, I just feel it’s time. It’s been great fun searching this stuff out but since I’m not finding stuff anymore the fun has gone. I will always love Twiggy and I am keeping a favorite piece as a keepsake. I have the original, hand painted production artwork for the Twiggy lunch bag and thermos framed on my wall that I don’t think I’ll ever part with. Oh, and I also have 9″ tall Twiggy tattoo on my leg that I’ll keep as well (for now).
For years I’ve been searching for this dang GOP talking elephant. He was made by Mattel in 1971. He’s one of their smaller pull string talking dolls (like the Cat in the Hat, Bullwinkle, Yertle, etc). I already have the DNC Donkey doll and would really like to have the Elephant to go with him. If you have one and are willing to part with him… please let me know (firstname.lastname@example.org). Also, if you have one or either of these in their box – I’d REALLY be interested in buying them!
